This Privacy Policy explains how Digit PRS, an authorised DigitFMS franchise ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use digitprs.co.za (the "Website") or contact us. It is written to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA).

By using the Website you accept the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Identity details: your name and, where relevant, your company name.
  • Contact details: phone number, email address and town or suburb.
  • Service details: the solution you are interested in, your vehicles, fleet or site, and anything you tell us in a message, call, WhatsApp or email.
  • Marketing preferences: whether you want to hear from us about products and offers.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information: browser type, operating system and screen size.
  • Usage information: pages visited, time on page, the page you came from and the page an enquiry was sent from.
  • Advertising information: which of our adverts you saw or clicked before visiting the Website.

1.3 Tracking Technologies

With your permission, we use cookies, pixels and tags to measure how the Website is used, to measure our advertising campaigns and to show you relevant adverts. Section 10 explains this in more detail.

2. How We Use Your Personal Information

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quotation.
  • To install, support and maintain the products and services you buy, including tracking, monitoring and recovery.
  • To send you news and offers, only if you agreed to receive them.
  • To show you relevant adverts and measure how well our advertising works.
  • To understand how the Website is used and improve it.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

3. POPIA Compliance

Digit PRS is the Responsible Party for personal information collected through the Website. We collect only what we need, use it for the purpose it was collected for, keep it accurate and secure, and let you see and correct it. We process it with your consent, to perform a contract with you, to meet legal obligations, or for our legitimate interest in running the Website and our business.

  • Object to the processing of your personal information.

4. Advertising & Remarketing

If you accept advertising cookies, we may show you adverts on other websites and apps after you visit the Website. We may use:

  • Google Ads and Google Analytics remarketing
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Ads
  • LinkedIn Ads

You can manage the adverts you see in Google Ads Settings, Facebook Ad Preferences and LinkedIn advertising settings.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • The national DigitFMS network and its 24-hour control room, where needed to deliver tracking, monitoring, recovery or support services to you.
  • Service providers that host the Website, deliver our email, and provide analytics and advertising services.
  • Regulators, law enforcement or courts, where the law requires it.
  • Marketing partners, only with your consent.

Some of these providers store information outside South Africa. Where they do, we use providers bound by laws or agreements that give the level of protection POPIA requires.

6. Data Security

We protect your information with reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access to enquiry records and regular software updates. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it or the law requires. Website enquiries are deleted automatically after 24 months unless you become a customer; customer records are kept for as long as the law and our contract with you require.

8. PAIA Manual Access

Our PAIA Manual explains the records we hold, how to request access to them and the fees that may apply. It is available on request from admin@digitprs.co.za.

9. Children's Privacy

The Website is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have, we delete it promptly.
